Event Details

Shenandoah National Park's scenic roadway, Skyline Drive, follows the crest of the Blue Ridge Mountains for 105 Miles. It is a narrow mountain road with incredible vistas along the shoulders. The full range of golden brown to crimson red makes this an ideal autumn excursion.

We start at the Dickey Ridge Visitor Center and begin our drive to three spectacular overlooks. At each, we will cover a different lesson: landscapes, capturing color, and nature photography. We then break for lunch – and an open Q&A on photographing the seasons – at Skyland Resort. Afterward, we trek down the 3/4-mile trail to Dark Hollow Falls, keeping our fingers crossed that we’ll encounter some wildlife.  This will be a day filled with fun and learning.

* Transportation and lunch are not provided.

See what others wanted to say about their tour...

"I have learned more in a few hours of a Photo Tour than in weeks of classes. The instruction is clear and approachable, and I have remembered it long after the tour."

"Lyn is a seasoned photographer that has passion for what he does. As a very enthusiastic, amiable guide, Lyn provides superlative coaching, starting with a group orientation about the essentials of photography, and then by giving each tour participate hands-on coaching with as much or as little as the student needs. Ample time is provided along the tour route so that one can leisurely find and take the shots they want. At the end of the tour, a recap of the 10 photo essentials, really helped reinforce the days lessons."
